Chemical Bonding
When more than one type of atom joins together, amazing new compounds are created. These compounds make up everything in our world and many are essential to life. But how does all of this work? This lesson will cover these topics and give you some basic understanding of the way bonding works.

2. So how is a compound different from the elements that make it up? Let's explore this concept with a hands on mini-lab. See Mrs. Yates for lab report and materials. You may do this lab with a partner (each do your own paper) and hand in when you are finished.
3. Now, go to the Chemical Bonding section of your Chemistry Notes Handout from your Google Drive and finish up your notes using information from the slideshow to the right.

4. Compounds are the original 3-D masters. They are the building blocks of all things that exist and the basic structures of everything. Let's practice building some of these 3-D molecules to get a better idea of their crazy shapes! Get your materials from Mrs. Yates. You may do this activity with a partner; each person must do their own worksheet. Turn it in when finished.

5. Use your notes to study for the Chemical Bonding Quiz. Let Mrs. Yates know when you are ready to take the quiz.
After you pass the Chemical Bonding Quiz, you are finished (almost)! Go to the Share tab to complete the last step. |
